The speech I watched was Selena Gomez's speech after she got an award. Her speech was very emotional and she always told that this award is not for her, it is for the audience. She always said something about audience. She told that she can’t be here without the audience. I think this made her speech interesting and very good. She didn’t always say about herself. She always come back to the audience. She also thanks to her mom and told an advice tom the audience for always loving your mother and give her everything. All of these made her speech very emotional for both her and the audience.

Jared Leto's acceptance speech at the 86th annual Academy Awards Sunday night was a bracing, open-hearted, and full-throated speech. For his speech, he used pathos mostly, and he used it for good. The reason this speech sounded interesting to me is because of the fact he won the first Oscar of the night for his role as a transgender person diagnosed with AIDS in Dallas Buyers Club. In his speech, Jared Leto expressed his love for Ellen DeGeneres, told an emotional story about his mother, and thanked his brother - as I said before - mostly pathos.
I think the main idea that makes this speech great is how Jared Leto expressed his emotions. He first got in the idea by expressing his love to Ellen DeGeneres and then he told the story about his mother - saying he loves her. Finally, he ended his speech by thanking his brother. I learned from this speech that the better we express our feelings while talking, the better the audience will feel about us and our idea.
Jared Leto Winning The Oscars For Best Supporting Actor – Can Umut 10-D / 139
The speech I chose is the one Jared Leto gave when he was called up to the stage to get his Oscar. I think this speech is inspiring because he touches the emotional sides of people by giving some background information about his tough childhood and how he got to where he is now. He said “In 1971, Bossier City, Louisiana, there was a teenage girl who was pregnant with her second child. She was a high school dropout and a single mom, but somehow she managed to make a better life for herself and her children. She encouraged her kids to be creative, to work hard and to do something special. That girl is my mother”. By saying these special words, he breaks the formal tension between the audience and himself, becoming one with the audience and sharing his past. He also speaks clearly and confident when thousands are watching him improvise up on the stage. To sum up Jared Leto’s speech at the Oscars is inspiring and admirable.

I watched the speech of Lupita Nyong'o she is an actress and she speaks at Best Breakthrough Performance Award at Essence's Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. This speech is good because she uses humor to pull the attention of audience. She gives real life examples and talks about real things that happened so that makes stronger argument. She speaks about a big issue also. Racism and not also fully racism. She speaks about the people who are different feeling they are not belong to that society and they misfit to society. She gives an example of that situation because of she gives real example her argument gets stronger. She talks about her aims and she thinks that she will change that issue. Her voice and the gestures are very sympathetic so she connects to the audience easier and with some humor she makes a great speech.
The speech that I listened to was a speech that Jared Leto gave after he won an Oscar for the best actor in a supporting role. I chose this article because I know that Jared Leto doesn’t just do acting but he is also the lead vocalist of the band “Thirty Seconds to Mars”. Despite of the fact that he has a really important role in the band, he managed to get an Oscar before many important celebrities and this surprised me. In his speech he talked about how poor he and his family was. The most surprising part of the speech for me is when I heard that her mother gave birth to him only when she was sixteen, the same age as me right now, and Jared wasn’t her first child. I was first shocked by the fact that a sixteen years old teenager rose two really talented people, then I was impressed when I thought of all the hard work that both of the Leto brothers gave to their lives.
Mindy Kaling's speech at Harvard Law School's 2014 Class Day Ceremony was mostly her mocking about herself. While making the speech knew she was an actress and she made sure everyone there understood that. She wasn't trying to give anyone any advice, she in fact made sure that the law graduates would be the ones to give advice. Her speech was more humorous than serious and that was what she wanted. Through humour she was able to reach her audience and made them listen her.

Jared Leto – Best Supporting Actor
Making speeches in front of millions is difficult. The most outstanding thing I realized about Jared Leto’s speech was that, he was confident and inspirational the whole time. He shouted out to the ones in poor countries and encouraged them to follow their dreams. Winning the Oscar is an honoring and perhaps flattering success for an actor. However, instead of getting excited in the moment and seeing oneself superior, he actually appreciated how his mom and his brother were always there for him. Besides the emotional part, he also sent the world good vibes about how love should be accepted in any forms. In my opinion, making sincere speeches are affective when it comes to combining different people. Jared Leto’s speech was engaging, heart-warming and touchy.

Jared Leto- Best Supporting Actor.
As we all know Oscar is the one of the biggest award ceromony. And most of the actor and actress have emotional time when they taking their award. But first of all Jared Leto stay calm and did his emotional speech. Firstly he talk about his mother's life and explain how difficult it is after then he give us a powerful advice. He told that "If you have dream make it happen." because he see his life like a drem from his mother point of wive. In conclusion, he make a powerful speech in short time. And give example from his life after that he gives his advice. And that makes his speech powerful and great.

Jared Leto Winning Best Supporting Actor
Jared Leto's speech after he was rewarded with the best supporting actor oscar had many ideas and topics included. At the beginning of the speech. He talked about his mom and included a personal memory and feelings. Then he started to talk about the group of people in the making of the movie. He said he was thankful to everyone that helped him earn this reward. He focused on people with aids and said that he is with them. He talked about how dreamers are being alone and said he is always with them too. The thing that makes his speech so good is that he always included some kind of pathos to every topic he talked about. He didn't focus on facts or something. He tried to directly get attention with talking about sensitive topics.
Victoria Beckham- UN Speech
Victoria Becham talks about basically how she felt when she been to south africa and saw how hard charity worked to help the citizens. In her speech she use a lot of pathos which made her speech more interesting. I think she really got effected from her visit to south africa because she was very emotional and desperate to help the people and the charities that work there. In the end of her speech she asked all of her audience to action and explained how it is really important to go and see the conflicts that these charities are trying to solve.
Jared Leto Speech
Jared Leto made a speech about his but mostly his mother’s past. After he got his Oscar award he started to talk about a girl who was a teenager and dropped out of high school. He told that “ In 1971, Bossier City, Louisiana, there was a teenage girl who was pregnant with her second child”. This girl was a single mom with two children. Then Jared Leto started to explain this girl’s belief to have a better life with her two children. This girl encouraged her kids to be creative, to work hard and to do something special. At the end of his speech he explained that this girl is his mother and she is there that night. It must be an emotional speech for him. He shared his love to his mother and thanked her for making himself a dreamer like she did. He also talked about his older brother. He loves his family and he thanks them with the Oscar award he got.
Victoria Beckham- UN Speech
Victoria Beckham is a woman who is very helpful for poor people and also women who is in violence. She is also known as famous ex soccer player David Beckham's wife. In that video she gave a short speech to press. Shutter voice didn't even disturb her while giving her impressed speech. Even though her speech is really short, it has lots of meaning and can be argued hours and hours. She wanted to say we are not only responsible from our shells, we are responsible for all the world. People who have good financial conditions should help poor people every time. In conclusion, I am really impressed from her speech, this shows Victoria Beckham how sensitive, and well educated she is.
Ellen Page-HRFC's Time to Thrive Conference
As most of you know Ellen Page is a great actress and she was in many good films like Inception. I think the speech was inspiring because Ellen touches other people emotional sides by her choice of words. She was talking about how being gay, lesbian etc. effects many children's lives. How they are bullied, how they are treated. Her saying that "I am here today because I am gay". The way she expresses herself to the audience and not being afraid of anything is one of the elements that makes her speech good. The thing that makes this speech interesting is, even though she can be seen as a horrible person after she explained that she was gay, she never stood back and continued to move forward.

Ellen Page’s Speech about Homosexuality
Speaking in front of a group can be really hard. But what is harder is speaking as a representative to a group, that is doing great work in the world. In her speech, Ellen Page also mentioned, it was weird that an actress was giving speech for Human Rights Campaign. When I watched this, it reminded me the speech of Mindy Kaling. They were both honest about them, not knowing why they have been called. And I think honesty is one of the things that makes a speech, great. Also, Ellen Page’s speech had so much pathos. She spoke to the hearts of the people, not to their brain. And near the end of her speech, she said that she was also gay. In this speech, the speaker is one of the audience. This way, putting aside all her adjectives, she can talk to the audience like giving an advice as a homosexual who has become successful. She talked about how hiding your true identity everywhere can make a person crazy and how society set rules on each gender. What I learned from this speech is that men don’t always have to play football and women don’t always have to be interested in what is considered as “women stuff”.

President Obamas speech about national security is a mix of a very strict and an humor infused speech. He talks about the 9/11 attacks and how America has a problem about terrorism through history. He talks about the duty of the Amrican president and how he should keep his duties in front of everything. He talks about the foundation he will leave after him finishing his presidency. He also says that the Us army can achieve everything. He says we must remain we must be the most powerfull country in the whole world.
Jared Leto winning The Best Supporting Actor
Jared Leto is one of a kind. His passion for new adventures, his will to achieve something, his powerful voice and not only but also his remarkable acting skills. After winning the Oscar, his speech was obviously so wonderful and inspiring because how he started his speech was congratulating the other actors that he shared his journey with and also the people that he had help from. Afterwards he used anecdotes from his life and stated that the girl he talked about was his mother and that his mother was a really amazingly strong woman who dropped out from high school and was a single mom with a child in her lap and one in her stomach. He also thanked his brother who he thought is a great actor. So in my opinion his speech was outstanding because of these conflicts.
Emma Watson UN Speech
Emir Kutay 10E 209
I watched most of the speeches in “The 10 most powerful celebrity speeches of 2014.” And I really liked the speech of Emma Watson. She spoke at a special event of UN Women’s HeForShe campaign. She was asking for solidarity movement for gender equality. Her speech was awesome because she used every content that makes a speech good. She started very directly, she established herself, she used rhetorical questions. There were facts, information, anecdotes and also allusions. While she was establishing herself she used humor that was great too. She touch upon to our emotion (pathos) and at the end she told us what to do. While she touched upon our emotions, she told us what to do and that was very effective. This quote is my favorite part of Emma Watson’s speech: “I think it is right that I am paid the same as my male counterparts. I think it is right that I am should be able to make decisions about my own body. I think it is right that women be involved, on my behalf, in the policies and the decisions that will affect my life. I think it is right that socially, I am afforded the same respect as men.”

The speech that i watched was Angelina Jolie's speech in 2009 and it was about world refugees. Her speech had full of emotion in it and mostly she talked about her memories with refugees. She start quickly raised that all of the hear because of the poor refugees and defending them. She told the audience that ther are not numbers or not a refugees. She wanted to show us refugees are like us. They are mom, farmers, teachers, engineers, dads.... she talked too emotional in a good way i felt deeply terrible for them and them life. She thinks that they are not have only ablety about something they are really strong and brave humans then us. Lots of bad and unbelievably things pass through them life. The refugees didn't quit they just became unbroken. Angelina also talked about what she saw when she visite to countries where refugees in a camp. She talked about them miserable life challenges and talked about these refugees life story and what they became after the war or after any other terrible accidents. After her words they she give us her thought about how maybe we can end the problems and how we can help to refugees. She want to give the children education because she think that the refugees let them behind is them children and the children deserved to have an education. Angelina finished her speech with actually refugees how they didn't know but teach her some and that was “Refugees have profoundly changed my life,” Jolie told the gathering at National Geographic today. “They have taught me what it is to be brave … to be a mother … to have strength of character.”

Jared Leto Oscar Speech 2014
I watched Jared Leto's Best Supporting Actor at 2014 Oscar's speech. Speech was mainly showing his satisfaction of winning the award. I really liked the way he appealed to the audience's feelings by telling an anectode about his mom and toughness of his childhood. People listening him seemed very influenced. Besides, I believe his speech was inspirational because he talked about himself becoming a succesfull actor from nothingness. Also the emotional speech aside, he gave an important message which was "love should be shown and accepted in any kind of forms". I think what made him successful was his warmth and sincerity. He touched many of the people's hearts.

I watched Obama’s “Victory Speech for the election results” in 2008. While I observing him, I noticed a very important fact that he uses rhetorical questions to provide the audiences to question themselves. Thus, he governs the thoughts of the audiences and win them round. At the same time, he had a very confident appearance because he was well-dressed, polished, and professional in his speech. He shows himself as trying to compromise but indeed he negotiates and no one understands while he was speaking. Because his emotional voice and reliable posture gives them that credibility. On the other hand, he had used Anaphora technique which is defined as repeating the words or phrases, so he created a dramatic effect when delivering his speech. In my opinon he used many logical statements to support his speech and turned the emotions of the audiences to good account. As a result, there is no reason for audiences to disagree with Obama.
I watched Victoria Beckham’s speech. I think, she spoke clearly and she had a self-assertive attitude when she was speaking. She looked strong with her attitude and felt all women's strong too. She pushed women to be strong, it is too important to say something about making people move on in speech. She exactly does it. She used humor in her speech and everyone laugh her joke. Humor is a good way to take listeners attention. Also, she gave an example from her family life in speech, it helps to make connection easily with listeners.

Ellen Page Time to Thrive Conference Speech
The speech that I watched was Ellen Page’s speech. She did her speech at the Time to Thrive conference in Las Vegas, in front of an audience of LGBT young people. Her speech was extremely effective because she used every bit of the speech elements. She used humor, ethos, pathos, logos and etc. I think the most effective part of her speech was her coming out as a gay in front of the audience who are in the same situation and who feel the same things as she feels. This shows that she knows her audience and she shares her feelings by knowing that they had gone through those feelings too. Also she says “You can do it.” or “You can make a difference.” for several times. So this makes the audience feel excited and it courages them to take action. During the speech she experience the joy of sharing her feelings and it made her relief at the end.

Jared Leto Winning Best Supporting Actor
Winning an award is surely important however what's more important is that you can still appreciate the amount of work other nominees put up to get that award. He received the speech maturely and he didn't forget to thank his mother and his brother whom had an important role in his life. We are all human even though our talents can be different from one another, we have to handle the situation for the winner and for the ones that couldn't get the award maturely and that's what he did.

I have watched the speech of Selena Gomez. Her speech was a bit short but it was very good. Her speech was so emotional. She told that the audience let her come to this place, this situation. In her speech, she won an award. It was not her first time winning that award. She also gives advices. She said that "Always love your mom and value them, always listen their advice" I think she is a great actor and a great singer. I always was watching her TV series. She also makes a good connection with the audience. She speaks like she is speaking with her friends that makes her speech much better. She thanks to the audience a lot so the audience feel better and think that they achieve something. So, in a nutshell her speech was short but efficient and I think she deserves that teen choice award

Jared Leto-Best supporting actor
Jared Leto made one of the emotionally affecting speeches front of millions of people. He encouraged people to follow their dream until they reach it. Most of the actor and actresses are getting excited in the moment when they get oscar. However, different from other people he stayed calm and talked about her mother and thanked to her for her advices and thanked because she was always encourages him and always there for him.For me Jared Leto's speech affect me more than other people's speech because talked about her mother who was behind his success to thank her as best as he can

I watched the Victoria Beckham's speech and that is powerful because of the word chıice and also the speech was attractive. Her speech is short but enough to understand what she is meaning. She keep it simple. She speaks so friendly like there is a little bit of formal and much more informal language. She has a lot of Anecdotes in her speech and giving information about her husband David. She made a little bit of Sexism but that is ok I think. '' İf I can do it, anyone can do it. This is my massage to you girls and young women all around the world.'' Other things in her speech se didn't use any Ethos pathos or logos and still her speech is powerful and very meaningful. After the speech she tank to her audience and give the audience a reason for trying achieve something in their life.

Jim Carrey's Commencement Address at the 2014 MUM Graduation
Today I would like to give information about Jim Carrey’s interesting speech. While speaking he did a very good job. In his speech there were lots of humor besides there were many serious things he told too. I think the best thing he did in his speech is he was very concentric with the audience and it made the speech fluent. He did a very good job with doing great jumps from funny to serious. In my opinion the painting he used as a visual source was perfect. My favorite quote in the speech was “But to find real peace you have to let the armor go. Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world. Don’t let anything stand in the way of the light that shines through this form. Risk being seen in all of your glory.” From this speech I learned the very thin line between being funny and being demure, and where to stop making jokes while speaking.
I havle watched Obama's speech before the election. Some of them says that this speech is the speech that made Obama , the president of the United States. It was so provocative and impressive. He was using his voice so skillfully that you could not help being influenced. He sometimes slow down to get the intrest and sometimes be louder to point something. If you watch Obama carefully he always use gestures and mimes. Mostly hand moves to be more effective. And it works. He makes his speech much more persuasive and he looks very dynamic. People like energy and a good aura. Also if you realize, he likes details, stories, contrasts and lots of allusions in his speech. He mixes them with feelings and some powerful and fancy words. He speaks to people, when I say people I mean everybody. He addresses to people's common ground, not to just one point. He adds himself to his speeches. That is what makes his speech really good.

I watched Angelina Jolie's emotional speech when she got The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Her speech was very effective. The way she appealed to the audience's feelings by starting her speech from her mother. She talked about how her mom give her the chance to become the women she is. She used an anecdote from her mother which was" Nothing would mean anything if I did not live a life of use to others". Then she talked about her experiences with the survivals from war. Then remind everyone in the room that they are fortune to have food to eat and have house to live. In my opinion this reminder took the audience's attention and make them think that they are so lucky. From that experience one survival touched her heart. She told that she has the same ability as she has and same ethic, love for her family but she just sit on a refugee camp. At the end of her speech she said a very significant sentence that that women asked her to do before she died which is "Do the best with this life to be of use". Last sentence really make people think about their lives and make them realize how fortunate they are. With her stories she caught the audience's attention and also touched their hearts. At this speech she used pathos, ethos but not much logos because it was an emotional speech.
The speech of Victoria Beckham wast too short but meaningful. She is a very helpful and supportive person to poor people as a wife of David Beckham. Her press talk was mainly about poor peoples and how can others help them or why must we help them. She touch upon that we are not the only living humans on the world and we must always do something to improve whole world not just ourselves. She again show how such a good personality she is. Even her talk was short it was so deep. She mostly use pathos from speech skills. That makes this speech interesting. In summary, rich peoples must help who hasn't enough financial status to make world a better place

Matthew McConaughey Winning Best Actor
Matthew McConaughey uses ethos and pathos to make a great speech. He talks about his father's death but he mixes his feelings with humor while talking about that. He thanks to the God witch is an example of ethos. He plays with his voice and he transmits his emotions to the audiences.
