I read an article ‘Communities gather across the L.A. area to share Christmas morning with thousands of homeless people’ by Los Angeles Times. People prepared meals and toys for homeless people for Christmas in Santa’s Village. I think that it is a good way to help homeless people. Helping didn’t directly show people, it prepared like a Christmas surprise. Homeless people ate foods, children played with their new toys and had unforgotten time. This project creates a good Christmas perception. İn Christmas people can not be happy with just look their fun, people can be catch real happiness with sharing and make someone happy.

Gender inequality is one of the most momentous global issue unfortunately still exists in our world. Every single day, it becomes a bigger threat upon us, more exclusively woman, however this does not mean it’s only a woman’s issue, it concerns every human. There are two main reasons causing gender inequality: social pressure and culture. As reported by “The Guardian” highest rate of gender inequality can be seen in Latin America, particularly in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. It is clear that those countries have something in common which is the strict culture of the land. Men of Latin America, believe authority above woman should be mandatory, because otherwise they might deviate to unethical paths. Do you think women kind doesn’t know the difference between good and bad? It’s for sure that they have their minds to use, not to be used by others. In my opinion, this problem can be solved in only way, modernization of cultures. They have been a huge weight on woman as well as men, therefore traditions should be sacrificed in order to live in a more equal and peaceful world.
"Widnes park stabbing: Teenage drug dealers convicted of manslaughter"
Lee Briggs was murdered by 16 years old drug dealer boys in St Marie's Park in Widnes, Cheshire. The jury heard that the teenagers traveled to sell cocaine and heroin in the park and Lee Briggs had tried to rob them. So, one of them stabbed Lee Briggs who is a drug user. They told that it was a self-defense because Lee Briggs had held a knife to his throat while demanding he hand over drugs and money. So, we can see that there is a lot of crimes in this news. As the boys said, there is a drug deal, a robbery try, and a murder. That shows us that crimes can be related to each other. As you can see, a drug deal caused robbery and because of the robbery, a murder happened for self-defense.
BBC – Ikea says Illegal Teenage Sleepovers Must End
Ikea, a Swedish furniture company known for its huge stores, have been dealing with a lot of “sleepovers” lately. Teenagers hide themselves in cupboards and spend their nights in Ikea stores, having fun. Even though it’s not allowed and obviously against the laws, similar incidents happen all around the world. Among all the depressing and pessimistic news articles in the internet, coming across such a funny and contradictory one, made me smile. It takes a lot of courage and craziness to practice such a thing. Nowadays, people embrace more of an individualistic life style and have similar, monotone days. However, seeing such an attitude made me realize, vividness and boldness in children still exist. (Which is a good thing.)

Scotsman - "Growing number of teachers absent with stress and anxiety."
The article I've found online talks about the mental issues that are being loaded on teachers. Freedom of Information request by the Liberal Democrats have found that almost half a million days have been taken off past the 3 years. I think this is mainly due to unending burden and stress being loaded on teachers due to too much work, pressure from families of children, and responsibilities to take care of children and be sure they understand what they're being told. Due to the fact that this number has been increasing, this proves that teachers are not receiving the right support. In my opinion, to avoid these mental health issues, teachers should not be under this much stress and burden, and they must be treated the best because what they do is the best thing in the world - educate children. Some parents who are stupidly crazy about their children who put pressure on teachers really annoy me and I think they may be the real reason of these mental issues that are appearing. This should stop to make the world a better place for everybody.
Christmas Day Matchup: Cavaliers and Warriors
2 days ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors faced each other in the most anticipated matchup in the NBA for the last three years. It was their first matchup since June 20th when the Cleveland Cavaliers became the NBA champions defeating Golden State coming back from a 3-1 deficient. With Kevin Durant signing Golden State in last years free agency, the Warriors were looking for vengeance in Christmas Day. The Warriors had the control of the game until the last six minutes of the 4th quarter, getting themselves as much as a 14 point lead over the Cavaliers. Despite the strong effort from Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, the Warriors couldn’t help themselves and choked the 14 point lead. I was expecting that the Warriors would win the game, but Stephen Curry’s 4/11 shooting was too bad for the Warriors to overcome.

My arctical is about children work at them young age because that children's adults don't have enough money for them self and those children's education. That's why poor adults let them work for make some money. But the things is these children get small prices. Depriving them of this income has led to some children seeking different, lower paid work, and even prostitution in some cases. schemes to help children would likely be needed so that this labor can be phased out. The same has been suggested by the International Labor Organization (ILO), at a meeting in Mexico City in 1999, who also pointed out that child labor affects over 250 million children, 30 percent of which are in Latin America.

"Tesla Will Make Its Cars Fully Self-Driving, but Not Turn the System On Yet" - NYT
Although this is an article that was written months ago, I think it is important to talk about this huge improvement in technology. So Tesla's vehicles have autopilot system. This allows you to take your hands off the wheel and feet off the break and gas while driving safely. It deactivates when get up or something while driving. So you have to be careful about it. I watched a video about Tesla's Model S and this self-driving technology. I think there is a problem with it. The guy who was testing it couldn't keep his eyes off the road even though his hands and feet were off. İt is a great invention and I think it is a huge step but not everyone is going to like this feature. Also, you can only use it on highway and there should be just a little bit traffic. Think that you are using this trait on E-5 in İstanbul. It would be a nightmare. However, overall it is a mind-blowing invention. It is good to see how humanity still keeps pushing forward the level of technology.
Cheetahs heading towards extinction as population crashes by Matt McGrath
The report estimates that there are just 7,100 of the worlds fastest cats (mammals) now left in the wild. The main reason that Cheetahs are in danger because they are far beyond protected areas and humans are always in contact with them. Because people use cheetahs fur they always want to kill cheetahs and by this their number are slowly decreasing. Another of the big concerns about cheetahs has been the illegal trafficking of cubs, fuelled by demand from the Gulf states, as reported by the BBC earlier this year. So I think that this has to stop before more cheetahs are being killed, because there will be no cheetahs left in the world and they cannot be re-created.

"Forced marriage victims are made to pay to go home to UK."-UK News
According to UK News; In a letter seen by the Guardian, a Muslim women’s charity has written to the Foreign Office on behalf of a British woman who arrived at the UK embassy in Islamabad in 2014, aged 17, seeking help to escape a forced marriage. In our century foreign marriege become popular. But it should be stop. Humans should be free when the choose the partner in their life. Government or anyone can't force it. The woman who wrote the letter cannot to be named for her safety, was taken to Pakistan in 2013 and forced into a violent marriage at the age of 16. It's disaster for her life.

This article that I read was about a disputation between Muslim women’s charity and the Foreign Office. Muslim women’s charity has defended the rights of a British woman who arrived at the UK embassy in Islamabad in 2014, aged 17, seeking help to escape a forced marriage. Women’s charity strictly emphasizes that it is unacceptable not to give any option to a woman who was required to sign a loan agreement and surrender her passport before she was flown back to the UK.
But she could not pay the cost of her repatriation from Pakistan, that is why she does not have her passport returned until she repays the money. By observing these kinds of situations we can understand that there will be no chance for the victim to escape from forced marriage if there is no support, no security, and very limited financial resources. Hence, every charity and organization need to be more aware about the difficultness those victim have and should act lavishly like that Foreign Office.

I have never read such an excellent article like this in Turkish news. Our media is publishing bad articles, that has no interest about people's feelings and social effects of such cases like bomb in Vodafone Arena or coup attemt. Turkish media gives information about what happened after the event few weeks later we never see or talk about that event. BBC is publishing news about Beşiktaş attack or coup attempt after weeks passed, Turkish media has forgotten about it. Our media has to improve, the news are like entertainment news. They have made our media like that, no one wants to see the truths. This has to change. And a correct saying from the article “2016 has exhausted Turkey. And optimism for next year is painfully hard to find.”
Why Some Animals Have Venoms So Lethal, They Cannot Use Them -BBC
This article questions why some animals have much powerful venoms that can kill dozens if the animal will just use it for one to one situations. Some animals can be incredibly venomous. For example, Taipan snake have enough venom to kill 250,000 mice meanwhile one drop of a venom of marbled cone shell can kill few dozens of humans. None of these animals would need that much venom in their entire lives. It’s for sure occurred as a result of some kind of revolution. The situation is like some one that is very smart and wise cannot contribute because she/he does not know his/her own potential etc. Smalls animals like snakes and spiders have incredibly lethal venoms that can affect a big amount of things but they cannot.
Prankster 'kicked off flight for speaking Arabic' - Delta Air Lines defends actions- The Telegraph
Adam Saleh who is a famous YouTube vlogger and has more than 2 million subscribers had bad moments in a Delta flight to New York JFK from London Heathrow. While he was on a phone call with his mom in Arabic, a women screamed and said what is he saying. After that nearly 20 racist people complain about his conservation between his mother. After that cabin crew decided to kick them off from the flight. Adam Saleh recorded this moments from his camera and shared with the people. I read Delta's plea about this incident. They were defending them. Airline could have kicked 20 racist passengers from the plane. They may have financial loss, but they will be a good example for avoiding racism. US citizens especially New Yorkers had a terrible and catastrophic incident nearly 15 years ago. This cause in US people a bad trauma. All of this incidents happened because of El-Kaide which reflect themselves as Muslims. (they are not) People are getting racist everyday to all Muslims. They started to think every Muslim people are terrorists. People shouldn't classify people generally.
Delta Airlines are becoming famous with their racist movements. Last month, during a medical emergency cabin crew asked for a doctor during the flight, and a black female doctor came said I am a doctor. The answer to the doctor is ""Oh no sweetie, put your hand down, we are looking for actual physicians." The crew ultimately found a white, male doctor to help. I have flown with Delta about 5 times, now I started to think, should I choose an airline which has racist policy.
21 girls out of the 300 were freed from Boko Haram's captivity a while ago. They were being held for almost two and a half years and it was the first time they were feeling free in a long time. Some of them were scared on their way back to Chibok due to the traumas they had under Boko Haram. Having the 21 out of 300 freed is enough to show everyone that there still is hope. There still is hope that these families can see their beloved daughters again, hope that the girls that are still being held might not have to suffer for long. When these girls were finally united with their families there was also the parents that had their hearts shattered into pieces. They had hopes, but their daughters weren’t amongst them. This gathering, which was supposed to be a happy one turned into a bittersweet one. But this brings up some questions since they were released by Boko Haram nearly two months ago in a deal brokered by an unnamed Swiss contingent and the Nigerian authorities. These girls were kidnapped back in 2014 and this deal is happening just now by an unnamed Swiss contingent and Nigerian authorities.

South Korea's obsession with top marks is costing its youth-ABC NEWS
I found a very interesting article in ABC for my blog post. It is about the way of evaluating a student. In Turkey and in lots of countries educators look their grades in order to decide if that kid is successful or not. I agree that students should be eliminated by grades. However, it should be considered that not all students have ability to be successful in that specific lesson. According to the article, effort valued more than ability in South Korea. Schools generally focus on the belief that effort rather than natural intelligence or ability is the key to success. They believed that the style of education is important. There are facts that pressure cause suicides and fewer births. It should be measured not from the ability, from the class performance they showed. In my opinion South Korea is leading a future education.

One of the people who influenced most people is is George Michael. He was the love of 70's-80's teen girls and icon of many. He had many songs, singles including the famous ones 'Last Christmas' and 'Careless Whisper'. Reportedly he had issues with drugs for 10 years but died after having heart stroke. He was found by his boyfriend, lying in his bed in his home at Oxfordshire. He was one of the most famous people that could ever write such songs and to have such fame in early ages. For example my mom used to be his biggest fan and she was so fanatic that she cried when she learnt about his death. His death was a tragedy for many people and he will be remembered with his songs and his colourful personality for a long time.
The Guardian-British Asians struggle for top jobs despite better school results
In the UK children from Bangladeshi and Pakistani origin outperform other ethnic groups in school but they are far less likely to be employed in higher paying jobs than their white counterparts. This new trend is unacceptable and it is a huge disrespect to the people who devote their hours to study and get good grades so that they could provide for their family. Sadly the reason for this type of discrimination is fear. According to observations from the workplaces, this discrimination is mostly against Muslim women. This is a hectic issue and it is a big stain on UK’s image as a country. This is a fear-based propaganda fueled by medieval-minded decision. I condemn these decisions made by the employers, and I’m asking them to urgently find a solution to this problem.
BBC News No cause for optimism in divided Turkey
As Turkey we had a terrible year. According to statistics 360 people were killed by terrorist groups this year. At the very beggining of the article there was a interview which was made with a policeman’s mother after bombing near Besiktas stadium. I was going to cry when I read that. Imagine that your son dies in a stupid terorist attack. What would you feel. If I were the governement I would have already resigned because of increased terorist attacks. The primary mission of a governement should be keeping its citizents safe. And unfortunately we are not safe. Everyone of us is thinking that will there be a bomb in Taksim or Kadıkoy. Should I avoid going outside. There wasn’t such a situation even in 70’s. The government still can look at our faces and acting nothing is happening. This year we are going through strange thing we can’t understand. First, the imigrant crisis. Why we are allowing them to enter when we can’t treat properly to our citizents very well. Why the coup happened we don’t know. Something is going on that we don’t know. There is a saying these days called ‘’martyrs are immortal our land is indivisible’’. Martyrs are dying for government’s purposes and mothers are crying every day and it is so sad seeing people in this situation in new and newspapers. When I read such news I say to myself how lucky I am and I say what kind of life is this. BBC News also says that Turkey is exhausted. Just as I thought they are thinking it is very hard to find optimism for next year in Turkey.

The news article I have found is about the death of Carrie Fisher. She was a very good actor and she was not that old. She was just 60 years when she passed away today. As we all know she was the one of the main characters in Star Wars movies. As I what learned from the article, she was movie shooting of the eighth film. She was a very good person in real life too. It is told to be she was died because of heart attack. This year worst year I have ever seen in my life. So many bad things happened and still happening. For example, so many film stars that I love passed away or 15 of July a terror organization tried to conquer our government. I hope that 2017 year will bring hope and happiness.

This morning, I woke up to a terrible fact I had to face. Carrie Fisher, who was best known for her role in Star Wars as Leia had passed away. Iknew her condition was stable and she was getting better after a heart attack in a plane. When I heard the news, I can’t explain how saddened I was. Because she wasn’t just a talented actress to me, she was basically my childhood. I grew up watching Star Wars and that is why I got sad. But after all, she was just a face I saw in the movies. Pood People all over the world are loosing their mothers, fathers, because they have to work really hard to earn money. I can’t imagine what kind of a pain loosing someone I actually know, passing away, because they have to work for my future.

Technologie is improving each day and takes important place in each country scientifically. Todays world wars mostly happens political or scientifically. That's why countries utilize cyber attacking. These attacks also causing internet to get slow. It blocks to login in Youtube, Facebook, Twitter so communication rate decrease in that country. Turkey has solutions to it. They create a brain army from Turkish hackers to block these cyber attacking. I'm interested in with technology so I know it can be used for bad aims as its useful. It could be more dangerous than a war sometimes so each country must take prevention. If some country could find a different way to improve technology and use it for their bad aims it could be caos for other countries.

Yesterday International Federation of Football History & Statistics announced announced a list which show the most legendary football players of all times. In all those players there was only one Turkish Footballer, and he represents us. His name is Tanju Colak, he played in galatasay back in the day, in addition he was in the Turkish national team aswell. He was a very successful footballer and he has scored 240 goals in his career. He was the second most scorer footballer in Turkish Super League of all times. In conclusion, it makes us happy that he has chosen to this list, he represents Turkey. I think that is an important event for all Turkish Football lovers.

Apple buys many of the components for iPhones like the memory chip, the modem, the camera module, the microphone and the touch-screen controller from more than 200 suppliers around the world and statistics show us that roughly 350 iphones can be produced in factories each minute. After the iPhone rolls off the assembly line, it is placed in a sleek white fiberboard box, wrapped and put on a wooden pallet, and then wheeled out to waiting trucks. After these phones are thoroughly checked they are transferred to apple facilities and wait to be sold.

In this article it shows the hunting techniques of the predators are only effected on the prey by flipping a switch in the lab mouse's brain it makes the mouse become a killer and makes it easier for him to catch and kill it's prey. I guess the zoo knew everything from the start. One of the only things that human beings cannot control is the greed and survival instinct. It's the same for animals however throughout the years they had to change their life standards in order to make man kind happy, such as circus and make wild animals obey it's "master" in order to have a meal, zoo's. This article reminded me of how greedy human beings were.
